Description of College/Department
The Department of Psychology (https://www.brunel.ac.uk/psychology) at Brunel University London is a research-active and diverse community with strengths spanning cognitive and clinical neuroscience, and culture and evolution.

We deliver undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and are expanding our clinical provision, including new postgraduate pathways. Our priorities include strengthening research quality and funding, enhancing student experience, and developing external partnerships, particularly with clinical and NHS organisations.

Description of the role
Brunel University London is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology to join our growing Department of Psychology.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a strategic area of expansion within the Department. We are developing new clinically oriented provision, including an MSc in Clinical Psychology, and are looking for a candidate who can contribute to both teaching and research in clinical psychology and mental health.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including areas such as psychological disorders, assessment, formulation, and evidence-informed interventions. The role includes delivering engaging teaching, supervising student research, and contributing to curriculum development and assessment.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of clinical or counselling practice (current or past), who can bring this expertise into teaching and contribute to the development of clinically relevant provision. This may include experience in psychological assessment, case formulation, or delivery of evidence-based interventions.

You will also be expected to develop an active research profile in clinical psychology or a related mental health area, contributing to high-quality publications and collaborative research activity, and engaging with funding opportunities appropriate to career stage.

We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in clinical psychology, counselling psychology, or mental health research and practice. Clinical or counselling experience is strongly desirable. We also welcome applications from candidates who may wish to maintain an active clinical role alongside their academic position, and flexible arrangements (including part-time appointments) may be considered.

We offer a generous annual leave package plus discretionary University closure days, excellent training and development opportunities, as well as a great occupational pension scheme and a range of health-related support.

Closing date for applications: 25 May 2026 (23:59pm).

Interviews will take place on the week commencing on 15 June 2026, in-person (or virtually if needed).
