The role
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled researcher to join the EPSRC-funded Digital Health and Care Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT). The CDT is a unique multidisciplinary PhD programme that brings together students from health and life sciences, computer science, design, and engineering. The postholder will contribute to a variety of research projects and support the broader strategic aims of the CDT and the Digital Health Research group, including building external partnerships (e.g. with industry, NHS), delivering public engagement activities and industry engagement.
What will you be doing?
The core purpose of this post is to support the strategic and day-to-day running of the CDT. Therefore, the postholder will be taking a supportive role in several existing research projects tied to the CDT. You will be required to support and independently conduct research in therapeutic areas such as physical activity, public health, mental health, global health and NHS clinical care. The methods used will include longitudinal data collection, ecological momentary assessment, systematic reviews, human-computer interaction, and codesign. You will be supporting both qualitative and quantitative research. The postholder will also be involved in prototyping, including software development, and ethics applications.
You will also support wider activities including building external partnerships, public engagement, and industry engagement. Additionally, you will contribute to the preparation and submission of research papers and conferences, providing support to PhD students, and assisting with grant applications.
You should apply if
You have a postgraduate degree in Digital Health or a closely aligned field, and possess strong methodological and writing skills, particularly in longitudinal data collection, ecological momentary assessment, systematic reviews, human-computer interaction, codesign and software development. Experience in external partnering and public engagement is essential. The role offers 50% - 100% FTE from June 2026 for one year, with the postholder required to work on Campus.
