Director of International Programmes and Partnerships

University of Oxford - Oriel College

Location: Oxford
Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 20th May 2026
Closes: 5th June 2026

Oriel College is seeking an internationally minded Director of International Programmes and Partnerships to lead and develop a successful portfolio of academic partnerships and visiting student programmes.

This is an opportunity to join a friendly, collaborative college community while shaping the next phase of Oriel’s international activity. Our programmes are already well established, with longstanding partnerships in China, a substantial US-based visiting student programme, and opportunities for growth across Europe and Australia. The successful candidate will oversee and strengthen these existing relationships while helping to develop new initiatives and partnerships.

The role would suit someone with experience of higher education and international engagement — potentially an academic seeking a stable, strategic, and people-focused leadership role. While closely connected to academic priorities and institutional relationships, the position is also highly operational and administrative, requiring excellent organisational skills and confident programme management.

This is an office-based role with a strong on-site presence, alongside regular international travel.

We are looking for someone personable, culturally sensitive, and enthusiastic about building long-term relationships across different educational and cultural contexts. This is an exciting opportunity to combine academic engagement, international partnership development, and institutional leadership within a welcoming Oxford college community.

RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK: It is essential that all applicants currently have the right to work in the UK, enabling them to fulfil all aspects of the role without restriction.

How to Apply

To apply, please complete an online Application Form and an Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form (optional) and attach your current CV and A covering letter outlining your reasons for applying and your suitability for the role.

Closing date: Friday 5th June 2026

Please note that applications will be reviewed as they are submitted, so it would be advantageous to apply early.

The College exists to promote excellence in education and research and is actively committed to the principle of equality of opportunity for all suitably qualified candidates.
