Reporting to the Course Director, IHTM, we are seeking an outstanding researcher in Bioethics and Global Health Ethics & Governance to lead and develop an innovative programme of research and contribute to postgraduate teaching within the International Health and Tropical Medicine (IHTM) programme.
In this role, you will develop and lead an independent programme of research in Global Health Ethics and Global Health Governance, securing competitive research funding and building national and international collaborations. You will manage your own research projects, publish in leading peer-reviewed journals, present your work at international conferences, and promote the University's research through engagement with academic, professional, policy, and global health communities.
The role also includes a significant contribution to postgraduate teaching within the MSc IHTM programme. You will design, coordinate, and deliver the Ethics and Governance module, contribute ethics teaching across other modules, supervise research placements, advise students on research ethics and governance, and play a key role in curriculum development and enhancement. You will also supervise postgraduate students and contribute to assessment, admissions, and the wider academic life and management of IHTM.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious academic with an established research profile in Bioethics and Global Health Ethics & Governance, a strong publication record, and a commitment to delivering high-quality research-informed teaching in an internationally recognised programme.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil together with substantial postdoctoral experience in Bioethics, Global Health Ethics, or a closely related field. You will have a strong track record of high-quality publications, experience of securing or contributing to externally funded research, and the ability to develop productive national and international collaborations. You will also have experience of designing and delivering postgraduate teaching, supervising students, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting an inclusive, collaborative academic environment.
