We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Network Engineer (Active). This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to design, delivery and operation of the University’s network, which underpins all teaching, research and business activity across the organisation.

You will be responsible for:

  • Investigating and diagnosing complex network problems and working with staff and suppliers to resolve.
  • Carrying out installation and configuration of network hardware and software according to agreed schedules, standards and processes.
  • Supports network design taking technical requirements and constraints into consideration.

About You

We encourage applications from individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. You should demonstrate:

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience of supporting a complex enterprise network, preferably with Aruba technologies.
  • Knowledgeable of software-defined networking, network security, wireless network design and cloud networking.
  • Familiar with DWAN and WAN technologies; MPLS and DWDM infrastructure; and LAN and WiFi network design.
  • Knowledgeable about firewalls, including IP security, internet proxy and remote access virtual private networks.
  • Experienced with virtual extensible local area networks and Ethernet virtual private network underlay fabric.

Desirable qualifications:

  • Aruba certified, CCNP, CCIE, VMware, NSX certifications
