About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional and strategic educational leader to join the Faculty of Education as Deputy Head of the School of Initial Teacher Education (ITE). As one of England’s largest and highest-performing ITE providers, we are committed to delivering outstanding teacher education that positively impacts children, young people and schools across the region and beyond.
This senior leadership role will support the strategic direction, quality and operational delivery of ITE provision across all age phases. Working closely with the Head of School and Associate Heads, you will lead partnership and placement strategy, ensuring high-quality and sustainable provision that supports trainee success, employability and growth.
You will play a key role in quality assurance, regulatory compliance and inspection readiness, using performance data and partnership insight to drive continuous improvement and support successful Ofsted outcomes. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of digitally enabled partnership and placement systems to improve efficiency and engagement.
As Deputy Head of School, you will deputise for the Head of School when required, provide leadership across staff teams and external partners, and help strengthen the School’s reputation locally and nationally. You will champion the values and moral purpose of teacher education and its impact on children and young people.
About You
You will be an experienced and credible leader with substantial expertise in Initial Teacher Education and a strong understanding of current ITE frameworks, curriculum and inspection requirements. You will have a successful track record of strategic leadership and experience of developing strong partnerships with schools, trusts and external organisations.
You will bring expertise in quality assurance, inspection preparation and performance analysis, alongside the ability to lead innovation and improvement. Experience of digital developments linked to placements or partnerships would be advantageous.
You will be a collaborative and inclusive leader with experience of managing and developing staff, committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and motivated by the transformative impact of education.
