The Reception and Building Assistant (MCUK) is responsible for providing general administration support including finance, record keeping and fault reporting and tracking.

The team is based at Media City and its members are fully integrated with a large cross over of tasks and skills. Team members regularly step outside their conventional roles to ensure a fully and value driven service to all building users.

We are looking for someone who will be responsible for the reception and front of house service at Media City ensuring that exceptional levels of Customer Service are delivered at all times.

Key Responsibilities 

  • To provide general office support including sorting of incoming post, preparation, scanning and filing of documents and dealing with correspondence and enquiries by e-mail and in writing.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance and updating of documents and information databases, and the establishment and maintenance of effective filing systems.
  • To place stationery orders within the financial management computerised system and via any system of web purchasing currently used or which may be introduced at some later stage.
  • To source consumables required by the Facilities team ensuring best value for money while keeping within University procurement procedures and recognised University Frameworks. 

A bit about Estates and Facilities Services

Our Estates and Facilities team lead the development of our campus, creating engaging and innovative learning, working and living environments for colleagues, students, and partners. The Directorate has over 300 employees and works with a wide range of external contractors.

The services arm of the Directorate is responsible for delivering full estates and facilities management to the University, including capital development, property maintenance, cleaning, security, caretaking and landscaping. Covering 33 buildings across the estate, split currently across 5 sites.

Led by the Estates and Facilities team, the University is undergoing a transformation to deliver its Campus Masterplan. Together with Salford City Council and The English Cities Fund, there will be an investment of £2.5bn over the next 20-years, as part of the Crescent regeneration programme. This investment will transform our campus and create a new city district that will bring together industry, education and innovation, providing new spaces for teaching, innovation, commercial, residential, green space and sustainable travel.
