UWE’s BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles is an industry-focused course that develops creative, technical and professional skills across both fashion and textile design. The course has outstanding studio and technical facilities across our city campus and works closely with industry to deliver a future focused and practice-based curriculum.
The course has been developed to reflect the dynamic and fast changing pace of the industry. It enables students to develop creative, technical and digital skills in both fashion and textile design, translating 2D ideas into 3D through garment construction, textile print, knit, embroidery, pattern cutting and fashion futures.
We are looking for an experienced fashion specialist with a strong level of current industry and/or professional experience and expertise in creative pattern cutting and in the expanded field of Fashion and Textiles. Candidates should also have practical and theoretical knowledge of the changing sustainability and ethical contexts of the sector.
While the primary purpose of the role is to deliver outstanding teaching, content and curriculum development on the BA (Hons) Fashion Textiles course
About you
You will be qualified to postgraduate level (or near to completion) in a relevant subject, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience from industry, hold a higher education teaching qualification and HEA Fellowship, or a commitment to achieve these within two years of appointment.
You will have a track record of inspirational teaching in higher education, or be able to demonstrate equivalent industry experience. You should demonstrate subject knowledge and experience in creative pattern cutting and at least one of the following areas: design methods, 3D product development, CLO3D, textiles and/or material technology and more.
