Shape the future of contemporary painting at one of the world’s leading creative universities.
This is an opportunity for a practising artist and educator to bring their expertise in contemporary painting into a vibrant undergraduate community, supporting students to question, experiment and develop their own distinctive creative voices and help develop a curriculum that is ambitious, inclusive and critically engaged.
Working as part of the Fine Art Programme across Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon colleges, you will contribute to teaching, assessment, and curriculum development, while helping to challenge traditional canons and expand the critical, cultural and theoretical possibilities of painting today.
About you
You’ll bring experience of teaching and assessment in a higher education environment, or equivalent experience, alongside demonstrable knowledge of contemporary painting and its theoretical underpinning. With a clear, inclusive communication style, you’ll be able to engage a diverse student community, adapt your approach to different audiences and build positive relationships that support students’ academic progress, confidence and creative development.
We’re looking for someone with evidence of research, teaching, knowledge exchange and/or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of fine art, painting or relevant creative activity. Collaborative, reflective and student-centred, you’ll work effectively as part of a course team, uphold principles of equality, diversity and inclusion, and bring an inquiring, innovative approach to teaching and problem-solving.
