We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory and Facilities Technician to join us here at Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences.
The Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN) is a world-class and growing research department in the Medical Sciences Division. As part of NDCN’s busy facilities team, you will provide professional, service-focussed laboratory and facilities support to the diverse research work carried out in the Department. The role underpins the facilities support service whilst ensuring that best practice procedures and Health and Safety are maintained at all times. Based out of the West Wing on the JR Hospital you will support the work of all NDCN laboratories, as well as the laboratories of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVMed) located in the West Wing.
Due to the nature of this role it is very important that you are able to work well with others and communicate effectively with a wide range of people. With strong organisation skills, and a demonstrable commitment to providing excellent service to colleagues you will help to ensure operations of the research environment function smoothly and comply with health and safety standards.
Training will be provided to help you develop and succeed in this role. NDCN encourages staff to explore the University’s Work Learn Develop programme of funded professional training and development opportunities for University staff. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a suitable individual to pursue a qualification while working for NDCN.
The purpose of this role is to provide laboratory and facilities support across multiple NDCN locations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective day-to-day running of laboratory and departmental facilities. The post holder will support laboratory users and other NDCN team members by carrying out a broad range of operational, administrative, and facilities-related duties.

This post is full time and fixed term for 3 years in the first instance.
