About the school 

We are seeking to appoint a Technician in Sport and Exercise Science to support our sport-based courses and associated teaching, research and outreach activities. The successful candidate will join a team of technicians supporting the School of Education, Health and Sciences.

This is an exciting opportunity for an appropriately qualified, motivated and practically minded individual to contribute to the delivery of a wide range of sport-related programmes. The School's facilities include a range of specialist laboratories and practical teaching spaces housing sophisticated equipment that supports teaching and research in Sport and Exercise Science, Sports Therapy, Strength and Conditioning, Sport Performance Analysis, Physical Education and Sport Coaching.

About the role

The role is central to our delivery andapart from efficient technical support the post holder will be expected to undertake practical demonstrations, delivery, support research and student recruitment activities, and also be involved with sport science consultancy services. 

The role will involve laboratory preparation, equipment set-up and maintenance, technical support during practical sessions, assistance with data collection activities, and ensuring facilities and resources are maintained in a safe, organised and operational condition.

The post holder will work as part of the technician team, supporting the delivery of teaching, research and outreach activities through the maintenance and operation of specialist facilities, equipment and technologies, while contributing to health and safety, space management, staff and student training, and the ongoing development of technical services.
