This is a fixed term maternity cover post until 1st July 2027.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dedicated Mental Health and Welfare Support Team as a part-time Mental Health Coordinator on a fixed term contract covering a member of the team's maternity leave. The Mental Health and Welfare Support Team work as part of the wider support network within Student Wellbeing and across the University. 

The role holder will offer support, advice and guidance to students with complex personal problems and experiencing challenges with their mental health and wellbeing in 1-2-1 appointments.  A key part of the role will be to work with students to create a plan to help them to move forward with their studies and student life.  The post holder will also be required to support students who may be at risk of harm to themselves or others, and work within the University risk management procedures to escalate and involve others where appropriate.  

The role holder will work extensively with other teams in Student Wellbeing and will also be responsible for liaising with other academic and professional teams at the University, as well as external organisations. As such we are looking forward to receiving applications from well organised, flexible individuals with demonstrable experience and training in Mental Health support.  Successful candidates will need to be highly student focused, empathetic and have excellent interpersonal skills.
