About the role

We are seeking to appoint a Full Time and Part Time Lecturer in Physiotherapy (Teaching Focused) to join the School of Healthcare at the University of Leicester.

You will play a central role in developing, delivering and evaluating teaching and assessment across our BSc Physiotherapy programmes, including our innovative dual award provision delivered in partnership with Chongqing Medical University (CQMU). This exciting role offers a unique international dimension, with opportunities to contribute as part of a flying faculty, delivering teaching in China for agreed periods each year. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across Leicester and CQMU to design and deliver high-quality, research-informed teaching, including the development of digital learning resources and supervision of undergraduate projects, while helping to shape curriculum innovation and enhancement.

In addition to teaching delivery, you will contribute to the broader academic life of the School through leadership in areas such as curriculum design, pedagogy, assessment or student support. You will mentor colleagues, particularly supporting teaching delivery in English at CQMU, and engage in scholarly activity to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes. As a University citizen, you will also contribute to external engagement, professional activity and internal leadership, supporting the School’s strategic ambitions and reinforcing its national and international profile.

About you

You will be a registered Physiotherapist with the HCPC and hold a relevant degree in Physiotherapy, alongside experience of teaching within higher education and a strong clinical background across core domains such as musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and neurological physiotherapy.

You will have a track record of delivering high-quality teaching that supports excellent student outcomes, with evidence of pedagogical development, engagement in scholarship and contributions to teaching leadership. Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, or a commitment to achieve this, is essential, as is the ability to contribute to an inclusive, supportive and high-performing academic environment.

You will be an effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, able to work both independently and collaboratively while building strong partnerships across international and clinical contexts. You must be willing and able to travel to China for teaching delivery and engage confidently in a global academic setting. A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, and to providing an outstanding student experience, is essential.
