Royal Holloway, University of London, is seeking exceptional candidates for the position of Head of Faculty Operations for the Faculty of Business and Law. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional services leader at a time of transformation.

At Royal Holloway, we are resolute in our ambition to be a University of Social Purpose. Our students are at the heart of what we do, and we are committed to academic excellence and inclusion, a commitment threaded through our education, research, student experience and our engagement with local, national and global communities. We are proud to be one of the UK's leading research-intensive institutions, ranked in the top 25% nationally in REF2021. Through the dedication of our academics, discoveries that change the world, and the distinctive Royal Holloway experience, we have built a diverse and supportive community that inspires students and colleagues to succeed.

The Faculty of Business and Law is central to the delivery of this ambition. Consisting of two departments—the Royal Holloway Law School and the Royal Holloway Business School—it offers research infused education and a full portfolio of programmes (BSc, MSc, LLB, PhD) across our Egham (Surrey) and Central London (Bloomsbury) campuses. The Faculty is home to vibrant, impactful and world leading research that addresses global challenges, while developing an ambitious external engagement strategy that includes executive education in central London, new industry driven degrees, research partnerships, placements, and experiential learning opportunities.

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Faculty Operations (HoFO) to support the smooth and effective running of the internal Faculty and Department operation; providing leadership for Faculty and Department administrative and operational matters. The HoFO, who will be reporting to the Faculty Dean, will be the main contact for and will work closely with Professional Service teams delivering services to the Faculty and Departments.

The HoFO will support the Faculty Dean, the Faculty Leadership Team and wider Faculty and Department staff by providing operational oversight which ensures a smooth-running department, delivers both service effectiveness and sustainability of activities and enables delivery of wider University strategic action plans. Central to this will be ensuring effective partnerships between the Faculty and the University Professional Services teams that work to support the business of the Faculty, its Departments and students. The HoFO will support the Faculty and Departments in liaison with Strategic Planning to analyse, summarise and use data through reports and dashboards to inform all aspects of the Faculty's work.

Who we are looking for

You will have experience in managing high performing teams, be results driven, and be highly organised. You will have experience in supporting the development of strategic plans, then in operationalising them, and in managing and implementing change. You will be a strong communicator and have a demonstrable ability to network and engage with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

The post is based in our beautiful Egham campus in Surrey, near Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance of London, where you will be expected to spend time at the Bloomsbury Campus.
