The Opportunity
An exciting leadership opportunity to define, articulate and implement digital learning strategy at London College of Communication, ensuring the alignment of this work within the broader context of the college mission and UAL’s Education Strategy.
You will lead and manage the Digital Learning Team, promoting and supporting the design and delivery of digital learning pedagogies, including the development of relevant guidance and standards and the provision of academic staff development.
You will model innovative and engaging methodologies that reflect emerging digital learning opportunities and bring your knowledge and expertise to curriculum development, ensuring that the digital learning offer is relevant, current and consistent within our courses. You will lead on the development of new digital content including delivery models, learning methodologies, resource planning, schedules and associated communications.
Your role involves the monitoring and analysis of the engagement with digital learning, identifying trends and opportunities for enhancement. You will work collaboratively with senior academic teams across the college to develop a community of practice on digital teaching and learning and will also join a network of senior digital learning professionals across UAL and represent the college at university level.
About you
You will be qualified to postgraduate level with a degree in a relevant subject area. You will have experience of developing, implementing and monitoring digital learning strategies and related policies and operational plans. You will have a background in management and experience of building and leading teams, having managed digital learning teams and developed staff-facing support services. You will also have experience of identifying staff development needs and of delivering programmes in response to these. You’ll bring specialist expertise to curriculum development in digital learning, including the development of online and blended provision.
You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and critical understanding of the pedagogic principles underpinning digital learning and extensive experience of using the platforms, resources and tools available to deliver a high-quality student learning experience. You will be skilled at planning and managing operational activities or large projects involving multiple stakeholders. Used to operating at a senior management level, you’ll be a member of the College Education Team and work collaboratively with other senior academic teams at both the college and across the university.
