Birmingham Newman University are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and proactive individual to join a small but growing student systems development team. As Student Systems Support Officer you will have a key role in supporting the processing, testing and training of the University’s student information system (currently Tribal SITS), ensuring that the system meets operational requirements and responds to emerging institutional needs and opportunities. Other areas of responsibility will include:

  • support the maintaining and running of processes related to the application, enrolment and ongoing activities of the student lifecycle, working in collaboration with colleagues across the University in order to ensure our excellent student experience is maintained;
  • user testing new developments and changes on student information system such as enrolment, re-enrolment, module registration and graduation;
  • dealing with errors and queries relating to the student database and identifying and resolving issues; and
  • course code creation and maintenance.

We want to hear from you if you:

  • ü have experience of working within the Higher or Further Education sector and a broad understanding of student lifecycle processes and how a student records system underpins them;
  • ü possess excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills with a keen eye for detail;
  • ü a track record of using your strong IT, logic and data skills to problem solve and identify and implement areas of improvement; and
  • ü want to join a growing and successful University which has committed to make substantive investment in a five-year student records system transformation programme.
