About the Role

The Student Projects and Campaigns Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the planning, delivery and evaluation of student-focused events and campaigns. The role involves working as part of the Student Life team, creating content for digital and print communications, supporting the delivery of welcome and induction activities, coordinating peer mentoring schemes, and maintaining Student Life web and social media channels. The post-holder will also carry out a range of administrative tasks, provide support for student enquiries, and collaborate with the Students' Union and other university departments to enhance the overall student experience.

About You

The successful candidate will hold relevant academic or vocational qualifications (such as GCSEs, NVQs, or City & Guilds), with a degree-level qualification considered desirable. They will have experience working in a customer-focused environment and will demonstrate excellent communication, IT, and organisational skills. Proficiency in using social media, website content management, and design software (such as Adobe Creative Suite) is advantageous, as is an understanding of student wellbeing and experience in coordinating events. The role also requires a flexible approach, with a willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.

About the Department

The Student Experience Directorate is the university’s main student support directorate and comprises Library Services, Careers and Enterprise, Registry Services and Student Wellbeing. Student Wellbeing is made up of the Advice and Counselling Service, the Disability and Dyslexia Service and the Student Life team, which oversees diverse areas such as the Chaplaincy, the Student Health Service, Report and Support and Music. Student Life also manage the university’s welcome and induction programme for new and continuing students, the Buddy Scheme (peer mentoring scheme for UGs) and play a crucial role in delivering the campus experience for students in collaboration with QMSU and Residential Services.
