Our English Language and Linguistics programme is growing, and as a result we’ve got a fantastic opportunity for someone versatile who can teach across a range of undergraduate modules and areas which include applied linguistics; discourse analysis; second language acquisition; language and pedagogy; and ecolinguistics. You will join a dedicated and research-active team in the teaching of our home and international undergraduates.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will combine excellent teaching with academic leadership and a developing research profile. You’ll lead modules, contribute to programme development, and help enhance the student experience across a diverse and international cohort.
You will teach across areas such as applied linguistics, discourse analysis, second language acquisition, language and pedagogy, and ecolinguistics, using creative and research-informed approaches. Alongside this, you’ll contribute to research outputs, funding applications, and knowledge exchange, building collaborations that enhance both impact and reputation.
What you’ll bring
You’ll be based at our modern Frenchay Campus.
You’ll spend most of your time on campus, typically 80% percent of your time, with the opportunity to work from home on the remaining days.
We offer a wide range of employee benefits including progressive pay rates, very generous annual leave and career average pension schemes as well as retail savings, onsite nursery and opportunities for training and personal development.
We particularly encourage applications from global majority and male candidates as we are currently under-represented in this area, however all appointments are made strictly on individual merit.
As a Disability Confident employer, we encourage applications from disabled or neurodivergent candidates.
