We have an exciting opportunity to join the Vice-Chancellor’s Office as an Executive Support Officer. The role will provide high level support to the Pro Vice-Chancellor International including proactive diary management, complex travel arrangements, committee servicing, tracking actions, preparing presentations, briefings and reports, undertaking research and problem solving and managing small improvement projects.
The Vice-Chancellor’s Office is part of the University’s Governance and Legal services, which provide the critical foundations that empower ambition, innovation and success - ensuring UWE Bristol operates efficiently, ethically and with integrity.
Working within the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, the role carries a broad and varied remit and would suit applicants who are keen to develop a professional career within higher education.
About you
The successful candidate must have relevant executive support experience (including diary management, experience with managing complex travel and committee servicing).
In this fast paced and varied role you will be able to assess and prioritise tasks effectively and be comfortable working under pressure to meet deadlines. You will be proactive in your approach and be able to work with minimum supervision.
You will have a professional manner, coupled with strong interpersonal skills and will understand the importance of confidentiality, tact and diplomacy at all times. You will also be confident in your ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of contacts both across and external to the university and be able to build and maintain good working relationships.
A high level of IT skills will be required.
Previous experience working within an HE environment or large, complex professional organisation will be an advantage.

This is a full time, fixed-term post up to 12 months, working 37 hours per week.
This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
This role is based on campus but there will be some opportunity for hybrid working.
