About the role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Oxford Vaccine Group in the Department of Paediatrics as our Maternity Cover Data Manager.

You will be responsible for all data management activities throughout the clinical trial lifecycle and reporting to the Director of Programming and Data Management, you will play a central role in supporting data management activities across multiple studies. This includes liaising with study teams, advising on data workflows, developing and maintaining SOPs, and collaborating with the Programming and Development team to build and support study databases using EDC systems such as REDCap. This is a varied and dynamic role within a friendly and committed team.

You will be working in a growing department within the Medical Sciences Division. The Department of Paediatrics is a world leader in child health research and hosts internationally renowned research programmes in drug development, gastroenterology, haematology, HIV, immunology, neuroimaging, neuromuscular diseases and vaccinology. The Oxford Vaccine Group has gained international recognition for its pivotal role in vaccine development, including developing the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. With over 25 years of experience in vaccine research, the Oxford Vaccine Group undertakes vaccine research at all stages of the process, from pre-clinical development to late phase policy influencing trials, with the sole aim of ensuring protection of as many individuals as possible from vaccine preventable diseases.

This position is offered full-time on a Maternity cover fixed-term contract initially one year or the actual return of the substantive postholder.

About you

You will have a degree in computer science, biomedical sciences, statistics, or a related field or possess equivalent experience in clinical trial data management, Proven experience in data management or database development is essential. Candidates must have in-depth experience building and managing study databases using electronic data capture systems, developing and documenting data management processes and SOPs, and a good understanding of the regulatory frameworks governing data management and information governance.

We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates initiative, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise a varied workload with minimal supervision.
