On the 1 August 2026, The University of Greenwich and the University of Kent will form a pioneering new multi-university group called London and South- East (LASE) University Group. Are you passionate about helping students and graduates make confident, informed decisions about their future? We are recruiting for both a fixed-term post, for 12 months, and an ongoing post within the team, and would welcome your application.

We’re looking for a professionally qualified Careers Adviser to join the Careers, Employability and Skills Team at our Canterbury Campus. You’ll provide high-quality, impartial careers guidance to students and graduates from a wide range of disciplines, supporting them to understand their options, develop their employability skills and prepare for their next steps.

Working closely with academic colleagues and wider professional services teams, you’ll help embed employability within the student experience and contribute to careers projects, workshops, digital resources and targeted support for different student groups.

As Careers Adviser you can expect to be involved in:

  • Delivering confidential one-to-one careers guidance, application advice and practice interviews for students and graduates
  • Designing and delivering group sessions, workshops and online resources 
  • Working with academic colleagues to support employability activity 
  • Using data, labour market insight and evaluation to inform service development and improve student and graduate outcomes

What will you bring to the role?

  • A professional careers guidance qualification, with experience supporting clients in one-to-one and group settings
  • Experience working with diverse student or client groups, providing tailored support 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of the UK higher education careers and employability landscape
