The opportunity
London College of Communication is seeking an experienced, innovative educator to join BA (Hons) Animation as Year 1 Leader. This is a key role in shaping the student experience within one of the UK’s leading creative institutions.
In this role, you will:
You will teach across the course, supporting students in developing creative, critical, and technical skills in character animation, experimental animation, and expanded practices. You will also lead curriculum innovation, challenging traditional canons while embedding diversity, inclusion, and global perspectives. In addition, you will manage staff teaching into Year 1, contribute to quality enhancement, support recruitment and course development, and engage in scholarly activity and professional practice.
A key part of the role is maintaining strong industry connections and integrating current animation production workflows into teaching.

You are an experienced higher education educator with a strong background in animation and a commitment to student success.
You will have:
You bring a creative, reflective, student-centred approach, alongside a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion. You will have experience of supporting students from diverse backgrounds and contributing to an inclusive learning environment. You will also demonstrate strong organisational and leadership skills, the ability to collaborate across academic and professional teams, and evidence of research, knowledge exchange, and/or professional practice in animation. A working knowledge of contemporary animation workflows is essential, ideally including Adobe Creative Suite, Toon Boom Harmony, Blender, Maya and stop-motion processes.
