LSE’s Centre for Economic Performance, one of Europe’s leading economic research centres, seeks a well-organised office administrator to assist the directors and centres manager. As part of a small, friendly administrative team you will ensure the smooth operation of the Centre, and other related centres. As the first point of contact you will work closely with all members of the centre responding to internal and external queries. You will provide high-level administrative support to the CEP senior management team and support a wide range of programmes and processes on a daily basis.
You must have previous administrative experience, working in a busy office environment. You should have excellent communication skills and be equally confident in dealing with enquiries in person and online. The ability to communicate appropriately across the organisation and with senior academic colleagues is essential. You will need to use your initiative in dealing with competing priorities and tasks. You should have excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office, and should demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, especially while working under pressure or to deadlines. An excellent standard of written and spoken English, working collaboratively as part of a team, and the ability to proactively recognise problems, managing or escalating these accordingly, are all essential to the role.
