About Role
As the Estates Systems Manager, you will serve as the primary subject matter expert for our core estates platforms, including Planon, KX, and BMS, along with a multitude of supplementary systems. You will ensure these critical systems remain stable, secure, and optimised across a complex, multi-campus environment. In this dynamic position, you will lead the design, implementation, and consolidation of business systems, developing seamless integrations between corporate applications. Your responsibilities will include providing 2nd and 3rd line support for complex application issues, as well as overseeing systems governance, procurement, and third-party vendor relationships. Acting as a vital bridge between the Estates department and central IT Services (ITS), you will translate complex technical information into clear, actionable insights for a wide range of non-technical stakeholders.

About You
We are seeking a proactive, technically skilled individual with a collaborative, service-focused mindset. To succeed, you should bring:

  • Proven Experience: A strong background as a System Administrator within a complex, multi-site organisation. Experience within a Higher Education environment is highly desirable.
  • System Expertise: Familiarity with managing and supporting CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) or IWMS systems, such as Planon, Maximo, or Archibus.
  • Technical & Support Skills: Demonstrated experience providing 2nd and 3rd line support, diagnosing application bugs, and managing vendor service levels.
  • Communication & Analysis: Strong technical analysis capabilities paired with excellent communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Qualifications: An ITIL 4 Foundation Certificate (or equivalent qualification) is an advantage, though not essential.
  • Values Driven: A visible commitment to embedding diversity, inclusion, and staff wellbeing into daily working practices and digital systems design.
