Post Summary: The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SoPPS), Trinity College Dublin and the Pharmacy Department, St James Hospital (SJH) seek to appoint an outstanding candidate to the position of Associate Professor in Cancer Pharmacy, to contribute to teaching, research and clinical practice across the SoPPS and SJH.
The successful candidate will have significant experience and track record of practicing as a clinical pharmacist and will have a strong academic background. Experience in Oncology clinical pharmacy will be preferred, or candidates must have a significant interest in this area. Candidates should also have a proven track record in research. They should also have an ability to contribute to and lead teaching activities and strategic developments within the SoPPS at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They should also have an ability to play an active role in the delivery and development of Cancer Pharmacy services in the context of best national and international practice.
Post status: Specific Purpose Contract*
*The specific purpose of this appointment is to establish, develop and embed a research and academic function in Cancer Clinical Pharmacy across TCD and SJH, including the development of research capacity, infrastructure, and external funding streams to support this activity. This employment is not offered on an indefinite duration basis as the role is time-bound and linked to the establishment phase of an expanded research function, the long-term sustainability of which is uncertain.
