About the job:
The Long Read Sequencing project is sequencing up to 22,000 samples in ground-breaking research aiming to drive forward diagnosis, gene discovery and mechanistic understanding for patients with genetic diseases.
The role supports the operations of the NIHR BioResource Lab and the exciting Long Read Sequencing project using state of the art technology. As a key member of the team, the Technician's role is to conduct molecular experiments on human biological samples, whilst maintaining accurate records on, for example, sample IDs and the outcomes of sample processing.
The role will require processing human biological samples, using aseptic techniques such as manual and robotic library preparation, DNA and RNA extractions, cell isolation and entering data accurately onto our laboratory records system (LIMS) and other databases.

The post is available on a fixed-term basis until 31st March 2027 in the first instance. NIHR BioResource is funded by the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NIHR) on a 4-year funding cycle.
