We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Programme Coordinator to support the delivery of innovative international education programmes for undergraduate students studying in London.

The role will focus primarily on Boston University's College of General Studies (CGS) Summer Programme, while also supporting a range of academic programmes delivered in collaboration with partner institutions.

About the Role:

As Programme Coordinator, you will support the planning, coordination and successful delivery of academic programmes and associated student services at Boston University's London centre.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines academic administration, programme coordination, student support, faculty liaison and stakeholder management. You will work closely with colleagues across Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to ensure students receive a high-quality academic and personal experience throughout their time in London.

You will also contribute to programme development, support compliance processes, coordinate academic activities and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Coordination and Delivery

  • Lead the planning and delivery of the College of General Studies (CGS) Summer Programme.
  • Coordinate programme logistics, including pre-arrival communication, student arrivals and departures, attendance monitoring, field trips and academic activities.
  • Work closely with colleagues in London and Boston to ensure programmes run smoothly and students receive a positive experience.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of programme schedules, calendars and key academic deadlines.

Academic Administration

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for academic enquiries from students and faculty.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for classes, field trips, guest lectures and examinations.
  • Support visiting faculty members throughout programme delivery.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and best practice across all London-based programmes.
  • Assist with course and assessment administration and ensure accurate programme records are maintained.

Student Support and Student Experience

  • Contribute to the delivery of academic support and pastoral care for students.
  • Participate in orientation activities and ensure students receive essential programme information.
  • Monitor attendance and support student engagement within programmes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the overall student experience.

Partnership and Stakeholder Management

  • Support the Academic Affairs leadership team in managing programmes delivered with partner institutions, including:
    • Royal College of Music
    • LAMDA
    • The Courtauld Institute of Art
  • Build positive working relationships with faculty, external partners and university stakeholders.
  • Participate in programme planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Learning Technology and Compliance

  • Collaborate with colleagues to establish and maintain Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) course spaces.
  • Support faculty and students with basic learning technology queries and coordinate escalation where required.
  • Assist with academic verification processes linked to student visa compliance and UK immigration requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to institutional policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Recruitment and Representation

  • Occasionally travel to Boston to represent London programmes, build relationships with colleagues and deliver presentations to faculty and students.
  • Support programme promotion and engagement activities where appropriate.

About You:

You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, building effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and delivering excellent service to students and faculty.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience coordinating programmes, projects, events or academic activities.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with colleagues and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with digital learning technologies.
  • Experience working effectively as part of a collaborative team.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience working in higher education, international education or student services.
  • Knowledge of academic administration processes.
  • Experience supporting study abroad or international student programmes.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students studying overseas.
  • Knowledge of UK student visa processes and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring colleagues.
