An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Associate to join Norwich Medical School to support a programme of research aiming to improve the long-term management of obesity, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research.
Within this programme of research, we will be conducting studies which aim to understand the impacts of privately funded obesity treatment (such as obesity management medications and metabolic bariatric surgery).
You will work on these mixed methods studies to gain an in-depth understanding of the issues, impacts and inequalities associated with private obesity treatments from the perspectives of key stakeholders and explore how care could be improved.
As a Research Associate you will contribute to the research programme, help with recruitment, consent, data collection, data analysis and interpretation, write up results and present information on research progress and outcomes.
You will have a relevant graduate level qualification, equivalent qualification or experience and be able to work in a proactive and results driven manner in a high paced environment. You will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to analyse and interpret data and work effectively as part of a team. Advanced skills directly relating to this research area and previous research experience would be advantageous.
This part-time (0.6 FTE) post is available from 1 September 2026 on a fixed term basis for 31 months.
