The School of Nursing and Allied Health (SoNAH) at Birmingham Newman University is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Allied Health (Paramedic Science) to join our growing academic team.

As our BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science programme progresses into its third year of delivery, we are expanding our team to support continued programme growth, maintain our commitment to an outstanding student experience and contribute to the ongoing development of an ambitious and innovative Allied Health portfolio. The post holder will play a key role in the delivery, development and enhancement of Paramedic Science education, working alongside colleagues across Nursing and Allied Health to prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals.

We are seeking either experienced Paramedic academics or enthusiastic registered Paramedics interested in developing a career within higher education. The postholder will contribute to teaching, assessment, simulation-based education, academic support, curriculum development, practice learning activity and partnership working with employers and placement providers. They will also support students in both university and practice learning environments and contribute to the wider strategic development of the School.

Applicants must have current HCPC registration as a Paramedic and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining professional registration and continuing professional development, possess contemporary knowledge of Paramedic Science practice and be able to effectively support a learning environment where all students are supported to succeed, and have either a recognised teaching qualification, HEA Fellowship, or a willingness to work towards an appropriate teaching qualification.

For Senior Lecturer appointments, applicants should additionally demonstrate evidence of academic leadership, curriculum development, module leadership, or significant educational leadership within professional practice or higher education settings.
