We are seeking a motivated and proactive Research Administrator to join the Community and Primary Care Research Centre (CPCRC) at the University of Plymouth, where you will play a central role in supporting innovative research and work alongside researchers, clinicians, people with lived experience, and community partners to deliver meaningful impact.

About the role:

As a key member of the Professional Services team, you will help support the day-to-day operation of the research centre, acting as a visible, approachable, and reliable first point of contact for colleagues, visitors, and stakeholders. You will contribute to the smooth running of Centre activities by delivering a responsive, customer-focused, and efficient administrative support service.

This is a varied and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of activities.

You will:

  • Support the organisation of meetings, events, and workshops; coordinate travel and logistics.
  • Manage shared inboxes and enquiries.
  • Provide administrative support for research projects and funding applications.
  • Help maintain accurate records, prepare documentation.
  • Contribute to the delivery of research that makes a positive difference to communities, health services, and people with lived experience.

For this role, you will need to be on site 4 days a week. Although we can accommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on-site will be expected due to business needs. This role requires in-person attendance in the office from Monday to Thursday, with remote working on Fridays.

This position is offered on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) on a fixed-term contract for 12 months in the first instance due to funding.

  • Organised, enthusiastic, and proactive individual who enjoys working in a busy and collaborative environment.
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and manage a varied workload effectively.
  • You will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team and will be able to prioritise competing demands while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • You will have strong IT skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service, alongside a proactive and solutions-focused approach to supporting colleagues and contributing to the success of the Centre.
  • Experience of working in an administrative and customer-focused role is essential, while experience within a higher education, research, or healthcare environment would be advantageous.
