Senior Lecturer and Course Leader, MA Interior Design Practices (Online)

University Of The Arts London - Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges - School of Design

Location: London, Hybrid
Salary: £52,977 to £63,815 per annum.
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 29th July 2026
Closes: 13th August 2026
Job Ref: 12617

We are looking for an experienced academic to lead the development and delivery of a new fully online MA in Interior Design Practices. This course is part of the Interior Futures Programme in the CCW Design School. The post-holder will work collaboratively within a course team, deploying specialist expertise to contribute to pedagogy and the curriculum in innovative and critical directions.

The flexible online model of the course has been developed to meet the needs of global learners with busy lives and widen access to the university. Teaching is predominantly embedded in pre-prepared materials, videos, tasks and asynchronous activities that make up the majority of the learning experience. Live learning (e.g. synchronous online webinars) is limited and accompanied by frequent tutor feedback to ensure a supportive and flexible learning experience.

You will join the Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Interior Futures Programme and will work in collaboration with UAL Online, bringing your experience of teaching and practice in Interior Design to develop a new specialist curriculum and learning experience for a new global audience of learners. You will oversee the development of all validated units, manage the course academic staff, lead teaching and assessment, and will collaborate with UAL Online and college colleagues to support the development, launch and growth of the course.

You’ll also contribute to the future design, development and delivery of the curriculum across the wider CCW Design School and Interior Futures Programme at Chelsea College of Arts, building on the knowledge gained from our industry-leading Interior Design courses and from establishing the UK’s first three-year vocational Interior Design programme in 1975.

About You
We are looking for someone with specialist academic and leadership experience in arts education and a strong understanding of the contemporary Spatial and Interior Design industry and pedagogy to lead this newly validated fully online MA course.

You’ll have established teamworking and communication skills and be able to support a growing team with highly collaborative hybrid working methods. You will bring diverse perspectives and industry voices into the new course curriculum, and be ready to support a globally dispersed cohort to develop their individual practices.

You don’t need extensive experience of online teaching and learning, but you do need to be open to the advantages of flexible fully online delivery to widen access to Higher Education.

Should you have any questions about the role, please contact Adrian Friend, Programme Director Interior Futures / adrian.friend@arts.ac.uk.

Should you have any questions about the application process or require reasonable adjustments for your application, please contact ccw.staffrecruit@arts.ac.uk.

Closing date: 13 August 2026 23:55.
