About the Role
Informal Queries
Cultural and Media Policy Studies (CMPS) is a part of the School of Creative Arts, Performance and Visual Cultures (SCAPVC) within the Faculty of Arts.
The School wishes to appoint a fixed term Assistant Professor (Teaching Focussed) in Media and Creative Industries to work within Cultural and Media Policy Studies. The role will commence 1st September 2026.
About You
We are seeking to appoint a candidate with expertise in the Cultural and Creative Industries, with a focus on media production and practice. Ideally, the candidate will have industry expertise with links to domestic and international industry partners, as well as an interest in creative technologies, the use of AI, transmedia, and multi-form content production in the creative and cultural sector.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute innovative approaches to the delivery of the CMPS BA in Media and Creative Industries. These include academic seminar-based teaching and practice-based Media Lab modules, focusing on transmedia content and media production practice. A key part of the post is to lead the Industry Strand of MCI, including Media Lab Y1 and Y3 and oversee the delivery of these practical components for the whole of the MCI ‘experience’.
To be appointed, you will hold a postgraduate degree or equivalent industry/practice experience. You will have clear potential for, or demonstrated excellence in practice-based teaching and learning, student experience and welfare (both pastoral and administrative).
