This is an exciting opportunity for an applied researcher with an interest in sexual health and wellbeing and service improvement to join the Sexual Health and Wellbeing Research Group.
The successful candidate will play a key role in embedding the new Sexual Wellbeing Framework (Lewis et al, 2026; 10.1136/bmjsrh-2025-203200) across services in Scotland. Working closely with Sexual Wellbeing Champions in NHS Health Boards and third-sector organisations, they will support the planning, delivery and evaluation of initiatives that integrate sexual wellbeing into routine practice.
The role includes developing and refining resources, supporting patient and public involvement (PPI) activities, contributing to formative evaluation of Plan–Do–Study–Act cycles, and synthesising learning on the feasibility, acceptability and transferability of practice changes. Reporting to the Project Co-Leads, the postholder will act as a key contact for partners, coordinating project support and producing a range of outputs, including learning resources, policy briefings, presentations and academic publications.
We are seeking an applied qualitative or mixed-methods researcher with a strong interest in sexual wellbeing and experience working with, or for, NHS or third-sector organisations. The ideal candidate will combine excellent coordination, analytical and writing skills with the ability to deliver high-quality outputs to demanding deadlines. Experience of formative or process evaluation, and of designing and delivering public involvement in health research, would be advantageous.
You will join a supportive, collaborative and dynamic team committed to improving sexual wellbeing through research, policy and practice. Due to project timelines, an immediate start is highly desirable.
