About the Role
We are looking for an academically driven Research Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team, exploring the pathogenesis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). You will be applying a range of molecular biology techniques (e.g., suspension single cell profiling, spatial transcriptomics & proteomics, microscopy, NGS sequencing, flow cytometry) to profile patient cohort samples and mouse tissues, plan, conduct and analyse experiments, develop and deploy mechanistic tissue organoid assays, and support the day-to-day management of the lab.
Besides your project responsibilities, you will become an integrative part of the research group, supporting the team in a wide variety of experimental approaches and with topical expertise. You will liaise with your direct supervisor, and other members of group, regarding experiments and general laboratory procedures.
If desired, you will be supported to use data generated within the role for transitioning into a DPhil program. Alternatively, a long-term employment with more responsibilities after the advertised position is desirable.
About You
To be considered for this position you must hold a Master of Science in a relevant subject and ideally at least 2 years of post-Master experience of working in a wet lab. You must have had previous hands-on experience in handling and processing human tissues as well as in vivo mouse models, and an excellent conceptual understanding of profiling techniques and analytical approaches.
