Salary: Standard Grade 6: £35,681 - £41,636 with a discretionary range to £45,212 p.a. (pro rata). This is inclusive of a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,730 per year (pro rata).
We are seeking to appoint a Technology Platform Assistant to help establish, develop and run high throughput service utilising platform generating multi-omics and spatial data from single calls to whole tissue samples. You will also provide advice, support and training to research groups with respect sample and library preparation or sequencing.
You will be responsible for performing the steps required for the running of the different platform technologies. You will reliably implement a range of molecular biology tasks, according to standard protocols. You will design, perform and monitor the performance of the platform pipelines and keep accurate daily records of experiments using tracking sheets, electronic lab books or LIMS as appropriate.
It is essential that you hold a BSc in Biological Sciences. You must also have demonstratable knowledge in molecular and cellular biology, genomics and -omics. You must have experience of performing complex experimental procedures following SOPs and the ability to work within the team effectively.
