About The Role
Multi-Disciplined Plumbing Operative
This full-time post is available immediately on a permanent basis.
The starting salary will be from £30,628 to £31,736 on Grade D, depending on knowledge, skills and experience.
Summary of the role
An opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Disciplined Plumbing Operative based on the Streatham Campus. This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join a small team of operatives supplying a high level of service. This full-time post is available immediately on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Maintenance Operations Mechanical & Plumbing Team Leader, you will be a member of the operational team working alongside other maintenance operatives in the Electrical, Mechanical & Structural Services teams. Estate Services is responsible for the planning, safety, provision, adaptation and maintenance of buildings, grounds and associated services and for the development and maintenance of the University’s estate.
The main responsibilities of the role you will provide a holistic repair service, ensuring that plumbing faults are resolved and the surrounding environment is restored to a high standard without the need for multiple trade visits. When required, in house and task-based training will be offered. The operative will be working within our Grounds, Academic, Research and Residential properties ensuring our compliance and safety. This is a unique opportunity to work on everything from Victorian-era piping to modern, sustainable "Green" campus technologies.
We are looking for a customer focused team player who can work alone or in a team and be able to use initiative to prioritise work demands and meet deadlines. You will have a starter/finisher mentality and methodical approach to work, as well as an understanding of all relevant health and safety legislation that accompanies these tasks.
