Are you passionate about applying your internet of things (IoT) and software development knowledge in a manufacturing environment to solve real-world problems?
At the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), we are offering a unique opportunity to apply your technical skills to transform the future of high-value manufacturing.
As a Project Engineer in our Integrated Manufacturing Group (IMG), you will be at the forefront of research and innovation. You will work with cutting-edge technologies, developing solutions that improve productivity, quality and sustainability for manufacturers both large and small. Supported by experienced colleagues, you will experiment, problem-solve, and translate research into impact.
You will gain hands-on experience across industrial connectivity implementation, manufacturing traceability, and circularity. Working alongside a diverse, multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with both academic and industrial partners. You will also have opportunities to attend conferences, explore emerging technologies, and grow your expertise while helping the UK manufacturing sector thrive.
This is a role for someone who enjoys creating connections between digital solutions and industrial hardware, representing real-world processes in a digital environment, and working collaboratively to solve technical challenges. Whether you are early in your career or bringing industrial experience, what matters most is your motivation, curiosity, and drive to make an impact.
What’s on offer?
The Integrated Manufacturing Group (IMG) is internationally recognised for driving innovation in robotics, automation, and AI. You will be working in a collaborative environment where your ideas are valued, your contribution makes a difference, and your development is supported. Together, we are building the future of sustainable, high-value manufacturing in the UK.
