About the role:
The Department of Life Sciences at Imperial College London is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Undergraduate Admissions Administrator to join our dedicated Education Office team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator with knowledge of higher education admissions processes to play a key role in attracting and supporting outstanding students throughout the admissions cycle.
Working closely with Admissions Tutors, Registry colleagues, academic staff and student ambassadors, you will manage undergraduate admissions activities from application through to enrolment while helping to deliver exceptional applicant events and experiences.
What you would be doing:
In this varied and rewarding role, you will:
- Support all aspects of the undergraduate admissions process, including managing applications and recording admissions decisions.
- Act as a key point of contact for prospective students, applicants and their families, providing accurate and timely advice.
- Organise applicant open days, recruitment events and departmental visits.
- Recruit, coordinate and support student ambassadors involved in outreach and admissions activities.
- Produce admissions reports and analyse data to support decision-making.
- Work with colleagues to ensure admissions communications and events are accessible and inclusive for all applicants.
- Coordinate welcome information for incoming students.
- Contribute to the wider activities of the Education Office, including support for examinations, student administration and departmental projects.
What we are looking for:
You will bring:
- Experience of student administration within a higher education environment.
- Knowledge of UK higher education admissions processes, including UCAS.
- Experience supporting undergraduate admissions activities.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A professional, customer-focused approach when dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills, including experience with Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience of organising recruitment, outreach or student-facing events.
