Are you an experienced research manager with a passion for policy, research collaboration and healthy ageing? We are looking for a UKAgeNet Manager to coordinate UKAgeNet, a national network of more than 70 UK research organisations focused on ageing and age-related diseases to make representations to national policy makers on key areas of common interest and increase influence on national and local governments.
You will join the Healthy Lifespan Institute (HELSI) at the University of Sheffield, an interdisciplinary Institute with over 200 researchers dedicated to developing policies and products to promote healthy ageing. Working closely with the Director of HELSI, Professor Ilaria Bellantuono, you will coordinate the network’s activities, organise high-profile meetings and events, and build productive relationships with researchers, policymakers, funders and other stakeholders.
You will play a key role in raising the profile and influence of UKAgeNet by producing high-quality opinion papers that synthesise discussions and consensus across the network, alongside blogs, briefing documents and social media content. You will also manage project administration, budgets and reporting to ensure the successful delivery of network activities.
You will have experience of working in scientific, medical, public health or social science research, with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be an accomplished writer, able to synthesise complex information into clear and engaging outputs for a range of audiences. Experience of research policy or policy engagement would be an advantage.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a nationally important research network and help shape the future of ageing research and policy in the UK.
