CBT Therapist

About the Role
We are looking for an Integrative or CBT Therapist with experience of working flexibly in an institutional setting, delivering assessments and short-term therapy/counselling. The work will involve assessing clients, offering one-to-one sessions, managing risk and onward referral, as well as possible group/workshop delivery.

The role reports to the Counselling Lead.

About You
Applicants must have an appropriate postgraduate qualification which includes a core CBT component, or a CBT training. We are looking for applicants with significant experience of providing CBT-based interventions to individuals within an institutional setting who are used to working with clients from diverse backgrounds and social groups, and with experience of working with young adults.

Experience in a student-facing or similar frontline environment, particularly within higher education, health, or social care—is desirable, as is an understanding of the support needs of a diverse student population.

About the Department
The Advice and Counselling Service (ACS) is a multidisciplinary student wellbeing service within the Directorate of Student Experience. The service offers counselling, psychological support, psychiatry clinics, welfare and financial advice, immigration advice, and sexual assault and harassment advice.

ACS currently employs over 40 staff, working collaboratively across three specialist teams: Counselling, Mental Health, Advice (Welfare, International and SAHA) and Frontline Services team.
