The Better Futures Programme, hosted by the University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education, is seeking a part-time Marketing Manager to lead the marketing and communications strategy for one of Cambridge's most distinctive leadership programmes.

The Role

Working closely with the Head of Marketing, you will develop and deliver a marketing and communications strategy that raises awareness and enhances the reputation of the programme. Your focus will be on attracting a diverse pipeline of outstanding applicants, providing the programme with the depth and quality of candidates needed to select an exceptional cohort. Success depends on understanding the motivations of a sophisticated, senior audience and being hands on in delivering targeted, insight-led campaigns that build trust, credibility and engagement.

Combining strategic planning with hands-on delivery, you'll lead marketing activity across a variety of channels, while managing specialist suppliers and freelance support. You will play a key role in expanding the programme's profile across the University ecosystem, working collaboratively across Collegiate and departmental networks to influence activity, align priorities, and drive coordinated communications efforts.

Ideal Candidate

You'll bring:

  • Experience developing and delivering integrated marketing and communications strategies. 
  • Experience marketing to senior professional, executive, leadership or high-net-worth audiences where influence, relationships and credibility are critical. 
  • Expertise in audience segmentation, customer journeys and targeted communications. 
  • Experience managing multi-channel campaigns across digital and traditional channels. 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage and influence senior internal and external audiences. 
  • Experience planning and delivering high-quality events, networking opportunities or thought leadership activities. 
  • An analytical mindset, with experience using data and insight to optimise marketing performance.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.

This is a part-time role, equivalent to three days per week. We are open to discussion on how these hours are worked, however flexibility is required to attend some occasional evening events. You'll be based at Madingley Hall one day per week and will regularly spend time in central Cambridge supporting programme events and engaging with programme participants. The remainder of your time can be worked remotely.
