We're recruiting for a Portfolio Lead – Professional Experience to lead our Professional Experience Year (PEY) — one of the University's flagship employability initiatives, giving students the preparation and confidence they need for professional practice and graduate careers.
This is an exciting opportunity to take day-to-day ownership of a high-visibility programme. You will lead the PEY curriculum, translating approved programme and module specifications into engaging learning experiences, and ensure students are effectively prepared to secure, undertake and reflect upon professional experience opportunities. Working closely with employer partners, placement providers and colleagues across Student Futures, you will maintain strong external relationships, monitor partner performance against agreed KPIs, and manage the operational delivery of PEY across multiple annual intakes — including workforce planning, teaching allocation and the recruitment and development of Visiting Tutors.
The role
This role is ideal for someone who has led the delivery of careers education, employability or work-integrated learning provision within higher education or a related sector. You will bring strong programme leadership skills alongside genuine day-to day ownership of delivery — equally comfortable designing curriculum, managing quality assurance and building employer relationships that make a real difference to student outcomes. Whether you are already working within an employability or professional practice environment, or are seeking a role that combines curriculum leadership with hands-on delivery, we would love to hear from you.
