The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Liverpool invites applications for a Senior Lecturer in Thermodynamics (Teaching & Research track).
We seek an internationally recognised researcher in thermodynamics, energy systems or propulsion technologies who can provide academic leadership within the Department and contribute to the strategic growth of energy and sustainability research at the University of Liverpool. Applications are welcomed from candidates working in areas including thermodynamics, heat transfer, combustion, thermal management, sustainable propulsion, hydrogen technologies, low-carbon energy systems, gas turbines, aeroengines and related fields.
You will join a dynamic and growing department at the centre of major institutional investment in resilience, sustainability, and engineering innovation. Supported by significant investment in research infrastructure, laboratories, and interdisciplinary capability, you will have the opportunity to develop internationally competitive research programmes, secure external funding, establish industrial and governmental partnerships, and contribute to high-impact translational research.
The Department works closely with colleagues across engineering, materials, manufacturing, digital technologies, and energy systems providing a highly collaborative environment for interdisciplinary research and teaching. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching while helping shape the future direction of energy research within the School of Engineering.
