Astrophoria Foundation Year Preparation for Undergraduate Studies Teaching Associate
The Astrophoria Foundation Year Programme seeks to appoint a Teaching Associate for the Astrophoria Foundation Year Preparation for Undergraduate Studies (PUGS) course.
This role is equivalent to 0.12FTE but will be 0.2FTE in term time (30 weeks). The post holder will be responsible for delivering the PUGS Course. The AFY Programme comprises the Preparation for Undergraduate Studies (PUGS) Course alongside subject specific teaching (the AFY Courses are CEMS (Chemistry, Engineering and Materials Science); Humanities (Classics, English, History, Theology and a selection of associated joint courses); Law; and PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics)). The post holder will produce and deliver the PUGS Course material and set and mark relevant summative assessments. The teaching will be delivered both to groups and individual students and an applicant would benefit from being able to demonstrate experience of both settings.
The Astrophoria Foundation Year Programme is a one-year fully-funded foundation programme for UK state school students with significant academic potential, who have experienced severe personal disadvantage and/or disrupted education which has resulted in them being unable to apply directly for an Oxford undergraduate degree programme.
Please see the job description and Astrophoria Foundation Year website for more information on the course structure and module detail.
