Procurement Support Officer

The Procurement Team is part of the Finance function, it is responsible for specialist advice and support. LSHTM is moving towards a category management approach to procurement, the role holder will be responsible to support staff across all faculties and professional services, providing procurement and purchasing advice in the use of the School’s purchase-to-pay processes and procedures, whilst also ensuring that requisitions and purchase orders are processed in a timely manner.

The role will support the Head of Procurement in keeping the School’s purchasing system maintained and up to date. This role will also be responsible for analysis of data from our systems and be able to present them to Category Leads or the Head of Procurement. The analysis of spend data from our system and Company Credit Cards is essential to help inform decisions on how we Procure goods and services.

The creation and maintenance of the monthly dashboard report will be required along with periodical audits on Credit Card spend against the policy.

The successful candidate will need to have:

• Good IT skills and the ability to extract /analyse data from procurement management systems.
• Working in a support role in a commercial environment
• Understanding and interest in electronic procurement systems

The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE and permanent.

The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 4 in the range £34,741 - £38,986 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
