We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work iunder the supervision of Professors Ben Davis and Shabaz Mohammad, to carry out research into developing chemical strategies for biomolecule trapping as part of a Wellcome Trust-funded collaborative grant
You will manage your own academic research and administrative activities, adapt existing and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols, and test hypotheses and analyse scientific data. You will be expected to contribute ideas for new research projects, develop ideas for generating research income, present detailed research proposals to senior researchers and collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports and journal articles and occasionally present papers, lectures and posters.
You should have a relevant PhD/DPhil in Chemistry, Chemical Biology or Biochemistry (or be close to completion), together with demonstrated knowledge of protein, sugar and/or lipid biomolecule methods. The ability to carry out analytical procedures that are applied for proteome characterisation to a high degree of precision including sample preparation, LCMS and data analysis is also essential. Specialist knowledge in the discipline, proven ability to manage academic research activities and previous experience of contributing to publications and presentations are all essential.
The post is fixed-term to 1 April 2029, funded by a Wellcome Trust consortium.
