About the role:  

 
The Programmes Officer acts as the first point of contact for queries from students and academic staff within the School of Law. They must carry out detailed and accurate work that supports the delivery of our taught programmes and enables student lifecycle activities to run smoothly. With support to develop a working knowledge of regulations and processes, the Programmes Officer is responsible for ensuring that our service to students and staff is seamless and effective.
 
Please note that you may be required to work on some weekends to support our postgraduate teaching weekends during term time (approximately 6-7 Saturdays per term). Teaching terms typically run from the end of September – December and January – March. 
 

About you: 

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.  
 
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
 
Essential criteria 
 
  1. Excellent organisational and time management skills
  2. Ability to work independently and take initiative
  3. Ability to work as part of a team and relate to a broad range of stakeholders in a professional and assured manner
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to draft documents and correspondence
  5. Strong numeracy skills and the ability to analyse complex data
  6. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel) and the ability to quickly learn new systems
  7. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy at all times 
 
Desirable criteria
  1. Degree level or equivalent qualification
  2. Experience of working as an administrator in higher education
  3. Experience of working in a customer-facing environment
  4. Experience of using virtual learning environments and student records systems (such as SITS) 
  5. Excellent intercultural skills and experience of working with international programmes and students
