"Are you passionate about content creation and mastering social media algorithms?
Aston University is seeking a creative and organised Social Media Coordinator to help deliver our social media strategy. Working within the Digital Content and Experiences team. You will plan, create and schedule content across our five main channels: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X and Facebook, with the possibility of supporting new social media platforms should they be relevant for the audiences of the university.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves making short form video content, social media graphics and capturing photography, who wants to see their content reach a real audience.
You will brief and collaborate with our team of Student Content Creators, support the activity of colleagues across the university via promotion and help shape Aston’s digital footprint in the ever-evolving world of social media. You will also respond to our online communities, acting as a point of customer service for the university and report on channel performance at regular intervals.
As the successful candidate, you should have experience of delivering digital marketing activity for a company or organisation, or a portfolio of work, created alongside a degree or working as an independent content creator. Some experience of social media Scheduling and Monitoring tools such as Iconosquare, Orlo or Hootsuite would be useful.
Additionally, it would be desirable for the successful candidate to have strong written English and proofreading skills alongside confidence in, or a willingness to learn applications such as Photoshop, Adobe Express, Canva, Premiere Pro or CapCut.
Outside of this, all roles in the marketing team are expected to support during our biggest moments of the year, including Graduation, A Level Results Day and Open Days which may involve very infrequent weekend work, 1-2 weekends a year.
This role is subject to a satisfactory standard DBS check.
