An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a UKCRC-registered trials unit as a Research Assistant (Grade 5) or Research Associate (Grade 6) in Statistics. Appointments will be made based on successfully demonstrating the relevant experience for the grade. Please make it clear which grade you are applying for in your application and make sure that your application addresses the relevant criteria outlined in the person specification for that grade. The Centre for Trials Research currently hosts the largest statistical team in Cardiff University and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of studies which involve wide variety statistical methods. The post holder will contribute to the design, management, analysis publication and dissemination of research.
With knowledge of the design and analysis of randomised clinical studies, multivariate statistical techniques, and the use of statistical analysis packages, you will have a good first degree with a major statistical component. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice is required, as well as Data Protection and guidelines for the reporting of high quality studies. This position would suit an individual with a willingness to learn, and the ability to motivate others and communicate statistical ideas to non-statisticians.

With a culture of continuous professional and career development the Centre has an excellent track record of helping people develop in their areas of interest, with many progressing within the Centre itself, the wider University or further afield.
