The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Allied Health Professions and Pharmacy at Keele University and contribute to the delivery of high-quality Speech and Language Therapy education. We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking individual with expertise in linguistics, phonetics and speech sciences to join our academic team.

The successful candidate will manage, develop and deliver linguistic content across our Speech and Language Therapy programmes, including our innovative four-year MSci Speech and Language Therapy programme and our online BSc Speech and Language Therapy Degree Apprenticeship.

You will have a strong understanding of the role of linguistics as a core discipline within Speech and Language Therapy education and practice. The role involves teaching, assessment and curriculum development, with a particular focus on phonetics, speech sciences and linguistics, and their application to clinical practice.

We welcome applications from qualified Speech and Language Therapists with specialist expertise in these areas, as well as applicants from a linguistics background who can demonstrate relevant subject knowledge and teaching experience.

Applicants should hold a good honours degree and ideally a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline. You will have experience of supporting student learning in either higher education or clinical practice.

Candidates from a Speech and Language Therapy background should be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and be members of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Applicants from a linguistics background should demonstrate active engagement with relevant professional organisations, scholarly networks, or subject associations. Applications are welcomed from candidates with either an academic or clinical career pathway, and support will be available for the successful applicant's ongoing professional and academic development

Please note that the starting salary will typically be at the bottom of the pay scale shown above.
